What I'd love to see in Season 3

This is what I'd want to do with Season 3, written by a guy who has no experience in television, scripting, story writing or anything that could be considered "entertainment"

I've been seeing a few things that lead me to believe there won't be a season 3. This grinds my balls. Double the Fist is a great piece of TV, it's original and it's hillarious. I don't want to see it end, not only because it's my favorite show, and not just because so many people fought to bring it back, but because without it, it's Kath n Kim reruns, and I'd rather shove my head in a razor-laden goats arsehole. There is so much that can be done with this show, and to end it after 2 seasons, especially after the second chance, is a little upsetting.

So while desperately hoping that Season 3 is going to exist, I'm going to pitch what I'd like to see out of the new series, knowing full well that if The Fist Team did read it, they'd probably just ignore it in favor of their own genius and ban me from entering the site again.

1. Bring back the old show setup: Don't get me wrong, I love the second series. But I personally preffered the setting of the old series, which was essentially Steve Foxx as host who sets a task to the team to convert something weak to fistworthy, and then have all the different solutions from the different characters. Steve was better as the infallable host, a task setter and judge of fistworthiness.

That being said, I also enjoyed the overarching storylines. A combination of the two, in this fans opinion, would be the best concept. For example, fighting weakness one thing at a time, through the series someone is seen to be attempting to sabotage the exploits of the fist team, in the end we find out its Blue Womp, who gets shot by a cannon again. I don't know, i'm not a writer.

2. Bring back the mini segments: Letter of the Weak, The Sound-a-like challenge, Steve Foxx Weak Files, Panda VS Rabbit, Fistory, and (especially) Mephisto knows, plus any others I may have missed. If I wanted to show my friends a piece of the show to let them get the jist of it, this is what I would show them. The mini segments broke up the show, and just made it that much funnier.

3. Keep the Rod Foxx Mullet: Rod Foxx's mullet is the single most awesome hairstyle ever concieved. While all other mullets look like rat shit, Rod Foxx perfected his golden mane of fury, with lightning bolts on the side of his head. I have never laughed so hard as when Rod Foxx burst out of the vault box with that Golden Glory. If there's going to be a 3rd series, it has to be in it.

4. Don't go too out there: How to put this correctly will be difficult. What was great about the first series was that it appeared as though the fist team we're almost real. To have them running rampant in the public was great, truly funny stuff. I believe the show was at it's funniest when it toed the line between reality and fantasy, when you looked at it, realised it wasn't real but could see how it could be. Then the outlandish crazy stuff would come into it and rip you a new funnyhole. Once again, not saying the new crazy shit isn't funny, but in my opinion isn't AS funny.

5. Less Drama: Double the fist Series 1 was hillarious. It was made to make you laugh insanely for hours on end. And it did that so well, because everything was written to be funny, except for the death of Steve Foxx, which I must admit hit a soft spot with me. A nudge of drama for comedic genius was well put. I found series 2 had too much drama, especially around Panda and Steve. With Double the Fist I wanted pure humor, not a drama/ comedy. Don't get me wrong, it was fantastic, and I loved it, but it's too much for Double the Fist, in my opinion.

6. A better timeslot: Lets face it, Double the Fist needs a better timeslot. It's an awesome show which needs a lot more respect than it gets.
We've all heard the timeslot thing argument before, so there's no point repeating it other than to say EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO READS THIS SHOULD COMPLAIN TO THE ABC ABOUT THE SHITTY DOUBLE THE FIST TIMESLOT! Also point out that no one watches ABC2.

7. Bring back some old characters: I'd love to see a return of Blue Womp just so he can get his head kicked in again. Or bring Tina T to create some conflict within Rod. Hell, bring in Blue Womp, Tina T, Philip Nugent and Rabbit as a rival fist team. That would be an awesome episode. Hell, it'd be an awesome series storyline. Have them lead by Steve Goxx.

8. Season 3: All in all, even if none of this gets into Season 3, it wouldn't matter too much because we all know Season 3 would still be the best series since series 1&2. Anything the fist team comes up with is pure gold, and even if season 3 wasn't as good as the first 2, it would still be incredible tv. Most of all I just want to see season 3, and preferrably sooner than 4 years.

Enough said - If you agree with me, post away! If you don't, post that too. Post what you'd want to see out of the 3rd series of the greatest television show ever.

Wow. I agree with pretty much everything. Plus I can't be arsed actually going through and actually agreeing with every point you make.

I think making panda a proper character was a mistake. The whole extra-quality she had in series 1 was so much cooler, if you have a spare spot, stick in a guy in a panda suit to stand out even more- it was genius!! Panda's introduction in the fistatholon is still one of my faves "the danger zone is the police issue .45 semiautomatic pistol" or that jazz...

I thought Panda's character was great for the drama, and I thought all the drama stuff was good, but I think the show's character suffered for it. I know you guys who make DTF are art-house minded, but I think having a body of work so far from art and everything else you do makes it all the more intense.

Anyhow, I've got to go haul bricks... in a literal sense.

Re: What I'd love to see in Season 3

A long running villain equal to the fist team is something the show as missed in series one we had the terrorists which felt equal but were only appeared in one episode and in series two we had the MRS in many episodes but they never really felt like a real threat until maybe the end when we saw Mephisto had truly joined them (well as much as Mephisto could join anyone that is). The idea for an episode I always pitched was Steve challenging the fist team to break into the ABC to air episodes of Double the Fist with the ABC hiding behind over the top security systems (at the taxes payer expenses) and giving Steve many chances to insult the ABC (something that was desperately missing form series 2).

Bring back old characters would be good all the nods to past events in the show are really handled well and I don't know about anyone else but it makes me feel like I'm getting a joke few other are. I think a heavy story line like series two works best for a full length feature a one sitting kind of thing where a loser story line would be better if we ever get a third series and WOMP is dead don't bring him back (at least not as part of the fist team) have him replaced with BLUE WOMP and how has no one suggest to bring back the Aztec Demi-God? He has Panda cloning technology!

Womp is dead, but hey, long live Womp!
Logic dictates that agonist & antagonist are both strengthened by the existence of a synergist.
Also, I've just got a soft spot for Womp. I think it took serious talent (and body language right up there with the Umbilicals) for Tony to make Womp so bloody endearing while wearing the world's most unflattering outfit.
Who could you part with from the Fist team without a bit of a pang?
I'd expect to see Rod baring his buttocks in some capacity and doing the Mr Smooth voice on some chicks.
I'd expect to see Mephisto doing the mighty Shakespearean declamatory vocal (that's almost enough to make you follow him to an island & have a wee cordial), with something in the way of some eye-bulging grin action.
I'd expect to see Steve directing a mesmerising rant straight to camera that makes all the hair on my neck try to stand on end while my monkey senses ring alarm bells.
And, fuck it, before I saw anything else, I'd expect to see Womp looking confused and doing some girly arm-action running.
And I'd be very happy indeed to see any of these things.

Re: What I'd love to see in Season 3

I've had another little think about what I'd want from the show, someone mentioned in another forum a feature length movie.

It's the perfect idea! Each year, one series of Double the Fist as described above, and ALSO one feature length TV-movie with the over arching story lines and drama!

It's perfect! Throughtout the series we get all the humor and comedy, with a touch of drama, and to hold us over in the second half of the year we get a movie with another kickass storyline, famous guest stars, and plot developments that could alter the next years series!

I'm begging the Fist Team now, don't let this series be the last! There must be more Double the Fist! We'll petition again, we'll send angry letters to the ABC, we'll bomb things, we'll assassinate people, we'll get the Hadron Collider to work properly if we need to!

And maybe a Video Dare DVD?
